| These are examples of distorted images. They are produced from badly engraved plates or poor photography. It is difficult to imagine the copper engraved plates distorting in such a parallelagram fashion. It is also difficult understanding how skilled engravers could make such bad judgements of right-angles. The first few are not photographic distortions. The originals were held to the monitor screen. They really are that bad. |

| An example of photographic distortion. The bowing of the top and left borders is the result of having the camera a bit too close and having the lens set at too wide an angle. This is not obvious during the photography session - it is only apparent when editing. The frame of this item was perfectly square. This is an example of sloppy photography! |
