 Map of the intended Southampton Railway.     Roak & Varty  c1830
A very scarce map produced for the proposal of a new railway from London
to Southampton with a branch line from Basingstoke to Bristol.
There were originally 8 similar maps, found bound together and the reverse sides
used for daily notes in a legal office.  The hand written notes are dated 1835,
indicating that by this time the maps were of no further use and were being used for scrap.
Some maps have a few small stains.   
The 6 remaining maps to be sold strictly in numerical order.
